Research & Development

What is VEDAMAN’s understanding of Research and Development with regards to agriculture?
Research and Development is a process of discovering, identifying and acquiring new knowledge to enhance delivery of services, selection of appropriate crops and livestock and management systems culminating in improved productivity and livelihoods of communities.

Research and Development undertaken by VEDAMAN consultants
VEDAMAN, in collaboration with various organizations, undertakes basic research, applied research and development. Basic research is often carried out in collaboration with academic institutions, seeking in-depth knowledge of the subject under study.  Applied research and development are undertaken at various levels as the scientists analyze and query processes, systems and mechanisms applied by NGOs and other development partners.  In the applied research the firm is keen on gaining understanding on how specific needs of target populations are best met using agricultural products at their disposal.

Objective of the Research and Development

The main objective of the research undertaken is to generate data applied by development agencies towards sustainable production of useful materials, devices, appropriate systems or methods that transform the living standards of needy, oppressed and uninformed farming communities.

Types of research

VEDAMAN consultants carry out primarily baseline surveys, feasibility and topical studies. The goal of the baseline survey (research process) is to deepen understanding of development activities in a project target area while feasibility study enhances objective, decision making with respect to proposed investment or enterprise in a given geographical area or environment. This is akin to empirical research
